NHL Betting Tips For Thursday, December 8

Jon and DerekThe tough sledding this week continued yesterday as we lost our Best Bet on the Bruins/Capitals Under 5 and went 1-2 on our leans.

3 of the 4 games yesterday were decided by 1 goal – including 2 of them in OT – and the other was tied 2-2 with 1 minute left before the Senators scored a go-ahead goal and then an empty-netter to win by 2. Tuesday, 7 of the 9 games were 1-goal decisions, 2 of Monday’s 4 games required OT to decide, and 5 of the 7 games Sunday were 1-goal affairs as well.

Basically, it’s pretty hard to lay -1.5 on the puck line with anyone right now, and it’s even risky to take anyone to win in regulation time. That’s why we’ve been looking to play more team totals and first period bets lately, which had been working pretty well until the past few days.

Hopefully we can get back on track tonight as there are 10 games in the NHL. With how tight and unpredictable things have been in the league lately, a lot of our leans are towards plus money plays, including a couple of first period -0.5 puck lines. If you decide to tail any of those but want to play it a bit safer to guard against a 0-0 or 1-1 tie through a period, you can always play the moneyline instead – but you’d have to lay quite a bit of juice to do it.

Good luck tonight!
