NHL Betting Tips For Thursday, December 1

Jon and DerekYesterday was a disappointing end to a great month as we posted a reverse sweep, losing our Best Bet and both of our leans.

The Kings looked like the fresher and more motivated team early against the Sharks, but a couple of turnovers cost LA as San Jose capitalized to take a 3-0 lead before the end of the first period and went on to beat LA 4-1. The Kings may have wanted it too much as they got a little over aggressive on a couple of plays, which led to some odd-man rushes for the Sharks.

The Under 5.5 in Pens/Islanders looked good late in the 2nd period but the teams combined to score 5 goals in the 3rd as the Isles won 5-3. Our first period moneyline lean on the Leafs was a total dud as Calgary came out of the gate flying and led 3-0 after one period.

Even with the 0-3 night, our first month of posting picks and leans on all games ended with a record of 92-69 (57%) for +16.2 units. That’s including a 8-15 cold run with our Best Bets, which are numbers we certainly expect will improve soon.

For new followers or to remind long-time ones, we don’t recommend that you blindly follow every pick and lean we post. It’s virtually impossible to find an edge in every game on the board – we just post leans as our suggestion for the best way to bet each particular game. We encourage you to read the breakdowns and come up with your own conclusions – and if you agree with a few of our leans, even better!

We’ll try to start another strong month tonight, and it’s a busy night with 12 games on the schedule. Good luck!

Odds below are at the time we made the pick. Be sure to check out our live odds page for updated odds on today’s games.
