NHL Betting Tips For Saturday, November 26

Jon and Derek

We dropped our Best Bet yesterday on the Canucks/Stars Over 5.5 and finished the day with a 5-5 split overall.

It’s been a really good month overall (all picks/leans combined are 80-58 for +15.9 units), even though our Best Bets are just 7-14 in November. We’ve said it before: It shows the value of flat betting (betting similar amounts on every wager you make), rather than going big on the bets you like the most and betting the other ones smaller.

We still expect that Best Bets (the bets we like the most on a given day) will perform better than the rest of our picks/leans throughout a long season, but anything’s possible in a short-term sample. Hopefully we can get our stronger picks back on track.

We’ve got a lot of new followers over the past month, so if anyone’s curious about why we call the other picks “leans”, it’s because we’re putting out an opinion on every game on the board. We definitely don’t recommend you bet every lean we put out – just find a few you agree with and go with them if you’d like. We just wanted to bring more value to the table daily than simply putting out 2-3 picks with writeups, and the feedback we’ve gotten since posting leans on every game suggests that people are enjoying the new format.

Alright, 9 games in the NHL tonight… here’s our thoughts on the Saturday board.

Odds below are at the time we made the pick. Be sure to check out our live odds page for updated odds on today’s games.
