NHL Betting Tips For Monday, November 14

Jon and Derek

We took the day off yesterday from posting breakdowns and leans on every game, but the picks we posted on Twitter/Facebook went 1-2 last night.

Our Best Bet on the Oilers -105 lost as the Rangers prevailed on the second night of a back-to-back, beating the rested Oilers 3-1. Our leans split, winning the Blackhawks in regulation against Montreal but losing on the Avalanche to beat the Bruins.

Saturday, the Best Bet on the Rangers/Flames Over 5.5 fell short by half a goal, while the leans went 6-2 with 2 pushes.

It’s been fascinating to see how our favourite bets have performed compared to the other picks we’ve liked (the leans). Over the past week, the bets we felt the strongest about have gone 3-4, while the leans have gone 30-20.

We are big believers in flat betting (risking a similar amount or betting to win a similar amount on every wager you place), and our record over the past week reflects the value of that. If you were to bet every one of those picks at similar amounts, you’d be up money. If you bet the Best Bets at way more money than the others, you’d be down money.

Just one game in the NHL tonight, and we don’t really have a strong opinion on it. But we’ve still broken it down below and suggested the way we’d bet it if we absolutely had to.

Back tomorrow to analyze a huge 13-game Tuesday schedule! Can’t wait…

Odds below are at the time we made the pick. Be sure to check out our live odds page for updated odds on today’s games.
