We may see our second coaching casualty of the young season as early as today, as the Calgary Flames continue their investigation of allegations of past racist behaviour by coach Bill Peters.
Peters won’t be behind the Calgary bench tonight — in fact, none of the Flames coaching staff has seen or heard from Peters since the investigation began — and it’s hard to see how he survives this scandal.
Especially as more allegations about Peters continue to surface, such as him punching and kicking players while coach of the Hurricanes a few years ago.
That obviously makes tonight a very tough spot for the struggling Flames, who close out a four-game road trip in Buffalo. We initially wanted to back Calgary before the Peters news intensified, but are going to end up passing on the game with so many unknowns surrounding them at the moment.
Fortunately, there are 12 other games to choose from on a busy NHL Wednesday. Our breakdowns and opinions on each are below.
Site Supporters will also see the 5 plays we’re personally invested in tonight.
Good luck on whatever you play!
Odds below are at the time we made the pick.
