As fun as the first two months of the season were for us, the last few weeks have not. We’ve been as cold as the Ontario weather in December, opening the month 9-15 for -6.2 units.
Even though we didn’t design this site to be a tout service (the goal is to share our research and opinions to help you make better NHL betting picks), we know many of you tail every play we make. If you have been, we hope you’ve been managing your bankroll properly during this cold stretch (we recommend risking no more than 2% of your bankroll on any play) and are still comfortably in the black on the year. When you take a step back, 59-45 for +11.6 units through 104 plays is still a solid return.
It’s cliché, but if you told us in October that we’d be around 10% ROI through the first three months of the season, we’d have gladly taken that.
Anyway, this too shall pass. Until it does, however, we’re going to pare things down and be extremely selective. Also, a heads up that we’ll be taking a few days off after Saturday to enjoy the holiday season. We don’t bet games right before and right after the Christmas break anyway, and it might be a good thing to clear the heads for a bit.
