Our Best Bet run continued Thursday night with a winner on the Canadiens Team Total Under 2.5 in Columbus, pushing us to 8-1 on our last 9 top plays.
Unfortunately, our other play on the Sharks/Blackhawks Under 6.5 missed badly as Chicago edged San Jose 5-4. We thought the Sharks would bring a lot more to the table defensively as they looked to snap a six-game losing streak, but that skid now sits at seven. It’ll be interesting to see if they can get back on track tonight when they host a Vegas squad that has lost four straight of its own.
The lone opinion we posted Thursday, the Capitals Team Total Over 2.5, hit as the Caps scored at least three goals for the 15th time in their last 16. Hopefully you’ve been reading the breakdowns of our opinions as well, since they’ve done pretty well in March as well (we’ve posted three opinions for today, but unfortunately don’t have time on a busy Saturday to break those down.)
Alright, let’s try to close out a great March with another Best Bet winner, this one coming in the early afternoon clash between the Panthers and Bruins in Boston. Thanks for reading along, and good luck!

Betting teams on the Team Total Over 3.5 used to be a really lucrative tool. In the past few years when the league was lower-scoring, you could almost always get the 3.5 Team Total Over at plus money, no matter how big the favourite. But while it took us a while to adjust to seeing juice associated with the Team Total Over 3.5, we’ve learned that it can still be worth the price in the right situations.
This afternoon looks like one of those situations. Boston’s offense is clicking as well as it has all season, scoring 27 goals over its last five games and playing with a ton of confidence. This afternoon, the B’s welcome a Florida team that should be weary playing its eighth road game in its last 10 outings. And with nothing left to play for, we don’t see the Panthers exerting the type of defensive focus and effort necessary to hold down the Bruins here. Sure, Florida allowed just two goals the other night against the lowly Senators, but in their three previous games, the Cats were shredded for 20 goals — including a seven-spot allowed to the Bruins a week ago in Florida.
The Panthers are still scoring goals, however, striking for at least two in nine of their last 10 games and potting 3+ in seven of those 10. If they get a few again here against a Boston team that has allowed 11 in its last three games, that only forces the Bruins to score more goals themselves. We also considered the Over 6.5 -105 here, but rather than relying on the tired Panthers to contribute to the score, we’d rather have all our eggs in the basket of the Bruins’ offense.
