Another great night last night, going 2-1 and hitting our Best Bet on the +135 underdog Canucks! We felt that Vancouver game was a tossup, so even though Carolina had to tie it late, it’s probably appropriate that the Canucks won it in OT.
We had a much easier win with the Ducks, who buried the Stars early with 4 goals in the first period. Our loss was on the Wild, who fell 1-0 at home to the Jets.
Odds below are at the time we made the pick. Be sure to check out our live odds page for updated odds on today’s games.
The Wild is in a serious swoon. They’ve lost 3 straight, and they just can’t seem to generate any offence, scoring 5 goals in their last 4 games. We could sense the frustration building while we watched their loss to the Jets last night, and now they have to go visit a tough defensive rival that is hungry to snap out of a 5-game funk. Carter Hutton will start in goal tonight for the Preds, but we think that will only focus Nashville even more on playing strong defence. We expect the Predators to get back on track tonight against a frustrated opponent.

To be honest, it was a toss-up which game to tip as a Best Bet, the Predators or the Sharks, so you might want to throw a bit extra on this one too. Just like the Wild, the Stars are in the tank – bigtime. Last night it was 4-0 Ducks in the first period, and you can tell the Stars are ready to snap. It doesn’t get any easier going into The Tank 24 hours later and having to face a Sharks team that is heating up. We’re not sure it will be 4-0 in the first again tonight, but we’ll continue to fade a Stars team that we think has overachieved in the first half of the season.
