We’ve got a dozen games to enjoy on a busy Saturday night in the National Hockey League, beginning with early action in Ottawa and concluding in Edmonton with a late clash between the Oilers and Golden Knights.
If you follow us on Twitter, you already know we were on the Senators +0.5 in regulation time against the Sharks. It was interesting to see the Sharks get bet up north of -185 on the moneyline on the road, considering that San Jose entered the day with just two regulation time victories in 11 games away from home this season. Meanwhile, Ottawa earned points in 10 of its 14 games at home, proving to be a tough out in their own barn. That opened up the opportunity to play the Senators to do something they’d done 10 of 14 times (get at least a point at home) and against the struggling Sharks doing something they’d only done twice in 11 games (win in regulation on the road) at essentially even money.
By the way, maybe, just maybe, the Senators aren’t as bad as everyone thought they’d be? Sure, they’re horrific in their own end and their goaltending is spotty at best. But this team puts the puck in the net a lot as well, and they continue to put out solid efforts for coach Guy Boucher (even if their Uber conversations aren’t that complimentary of the coaching staff). Last year, we saw a lot of people keep betting against Vegas throughout the year simply because they “weren’t supposed to be good” instead of because of the reality. We’re certainly not saying the Senators are the Golden Knights, but they are a team worthy of your betting support in the right spots.
Alright, sermon over. We’re on three other games today, and also strongly considered adding the Vegas/Edmonton Under 6 as well. Read about all the situational angles, trends and other stats below, and good luck on what you decide to play!
