Stanley Cup Betting Tips For Wednesday, April 27

Jon and DerekThe NHL returns to action tonight after a 1-night break and we have two great games to look forward to.

The Islanders and Lightning lift the curtain on their second-round series, followed by Game 7 between the Ducks and Predators.

We’re not big fans of starting Round 2 before the first round is done, but hey, it’s another game to watch tonight. That’s never a bad thing.

No surprise that the Ducks are a big favourite tonight (-170 range at most sportsbooks). Of course we think they’ll win but -170 is really high when you consider the series has gone 7 games and Nashville has already won twice in Anaheim. If we were going to bet the game, we’d have to go with the Predators just because of the value, but gut tells us Anaheim finds a way here. Besides, we don’t really want to be cheering against our Anaheim series bet, which is also on the line.

We considered passing on the other game tonight as well. We’re usually cautious when it comes to betting Game 1 of a new series because teams have been off for a few days, some may still have an emotional hangover from the last series, etc. You never really know what to expect.

However, the odds are just so good on the Islanders that we have to play them tonight. They’re an underdog and less likely to win than the Lightning, but +140 is too much value to pass up.

In case you didn’t notice yesterday, we also put out our Stanley Cup playoff Round 2 picks (on 3 of the 4 series, since the other series matchup isn’t finalized yet). We’ve gone 6-1 with our Round 1 bets and could go to 7-1 with a Ducks win tonight.

Good luck with whatever you bet, and enjoy the action!
