We didn’t love any of the matchups last night, but ended up going a very solid 3-1 on our leans with all 3 wins coming by 2 goals or more.
The Panthers and Devils easily went Under 5, with Florida carrying a 1-0 lead into the final minutes before adding a couple of empty netters to win 3-0. The Capitals downed the Canadiens 4-1, and the Stars upset the Kings 6-4 in LA to comfortably cover the +0.5 regulation line.
Our loss came on the Flames Team Total Over 2.5, as Calgary was skunked 2-0 by the Jets. The Flames team total was going to be our Best Bet before we saw a big line move towards the Jets that we didn’t understand. The line smelled a little bit, so we’re glad we stayed away from it as a featured bet.
On the heels of an 8-3 Saturday, we feel back in the groove again after a couple of weeks treading water. That said, we’re a bit surprised by a couple of lines in tonight’s action – but not enough to change our minds about a few picks we really like.
Good luck tonight!

Both the moneyline and total in this game surprised us a bit, as we had St. Louis and the Over circled in this matchup when we first looked at it yesterday. The Blues opened around -115 favourites, and the Over 5 was cheaper than we expected at -120 before being bet down a bit.
This is a pretty tough situational spot for the Bruins. They’re playing in their fourth different city in 6 nights, and Boston tends to struggle on short rest – going 1-5 in its last 6 when playing 4 games in 6 days and 0-5 in its last 5 when playing their 3rd game in 4. The B’s have also surrendered 3 goals or more in 3 of their last 4 games. In fact, the only teams they’ve held below 3 goals in their last 11 games were the Panthers (twice) and Sabres (twice), hardly offensive powers.
Much is being made of the Blues’ recent struggles when coming off a victory (0-7 in their last 7). But St. Louis is still a very strong home team (16-4-4) and their offence is back in good form, scoring 4+ goals in 3 of their last 5 outings. We also feel this is a good focus spot for the Blues as they play their final game of a 6-game homestand before heading out on a west coast trip to Anaheim, San Jose and LA.
So it’s either Blues, Blues Team Total Over 2.5 or Over 5 for us here. What puts us on the full game Over is that St. Louis has been pretty leaky defensively again of late (3+ goals against in 5 of its last 6 games and 7 of 9, 2+ goals against in 9 of 10), and the Bruins’ offence is rolling right now as well (3+ goals in 3 straight games and 6 of 7). The line suggests the oddsmakers feel Boston will put up a good fight here despite its fatigue issues, so we’ll cheer for a competitive game in which 2 goals from each side guarantees us a push at worst.
