We split our 2 leans last night, hitting Bruins +135 over Montreal but dropping Coyotes +0.5 -120 in the first period in Pittsburgh.
We didn’t love any betting angles on either game (although that Boston/Montreal game turned into a great one to watch), but there are quite a few things we like about tonight’s 10-game board.
We’ll also look to be active in the live betting market tonight as there are several opportunities we have circled. If we make any live bets, we’ll share them on Twitter.
Below is our favourite bet of the night, followed by stats, trends and leans on the other 9 games in the NHL tonight.
Good luck tonight, especially if you’re tailing any of them!
Odds below are at the time we made the pick. Be sure to check out our live odds page for updated odds on today’s games.

We’ve been waiting for the Capitals to get back to their dominant form from last season, and it seems they may finally be on their way. They’ve won 4 straight, scoring 3 goals or more in each of those games while allowing a grand total of 6 goals. We also saw positive signs out of how they held a players-only meeting after a 4-3 overtime win over the Bruins last week. The Capitals aren’t just satisfied with winning games, they hold themselves to a much higher standard.
The Islanders are one of the streakier teams in the NHL. They started November with 9 losses in 11 games, then bounced back to go 5-0-1 over their next 6 before getting a reality check Saturday in Columbus, losing 6-2. Their home record may look good (9-4-4) but that’s really just 9-8, and they’ve been one of the worst home teams in the NHL over the past 5 years (compared to their road record).
If Washington needs any added motivation, they can look to a 3-0 loss to the Islanders at home a couple of weeks ago. That loss came with the Capitals struggling to score goals and the Islanders on a high from beating the Penguins the previous night. Washington’s won 3 of its last 4 visits to Long Island and is 54-25-3 in the last 82 meetings. -130 seems like a nice price to back the far superior team here.
