NHL Betting Tips For Thursday, January 5

Jon and DerekWe hit our Best Bet yesterday on the Rangers Team Total Over 2.5 as New York answered the bell after a sub-par performance Tuesday, downing the Flyers 5-2 in Philadelphia.

Overall, it was a 3-3 evening including the leans on all the other games.

We’re a bit later than usual today as one of us had family visiting this morning from out of town. It’s about time the kids got back to school and we can get out of Christmas mode.

We don’t really like the 7-game board tonight in the NHL, finding the matchups hard to handicap for whatever reason. The only game we really like is the Sharks Best Bet, though we feel pretty strongly about Nashville as well. The leans on the other games are simply opinions of the best way to play them, since we do that for every game.

At least tonight’s schedule is highlighted by what should be a tremendous game between the Blue Jackets and Capitals. We’ll only have one eye on that game, though, as our attention will also be on the Canada/US clash in the final of the world junior championships.

Whatever game(s) you’re watching tonight, enjoy and good luck!

Odds below are at the time we made the pick. Be sure to check out our live odds page for updated odds on today’s games.
