NHL Betting Tips For Thursday, January 4

Jon and DerekWe endured our toughest night in quite a while on Tuesday, going 1-3 with a push and losing 2.3 units.

That dropped the season total down to +9.1 units on the campaign, so we’ll look to bounce back tonight with a full slate of games to choose from. There was initially supposed to be 12 games tonight, but the winter storm hitting the east coast led to the postponement of the Panthers/Bruins game in Boston.

We’re not fans of betting the Grand Salami (Over/Under a certain amount of goals scored on a given night), but we actually gave strong consideration to the Under tonight. Unders were our initial lean on almost every game we looked at, even in Islanders/Flyers where both teams are in offensive slumps. However, we couldn’t find a Grand Salami total posted at any of the online sportsbooks we use, presumably because of the Florida/Boston postponement.

We’re on 3 games tonight: An Over, a first period Under and a first period moneyline. Good luck if you’re tailing along, or on whatever else you’re playing tonight.

Odds below are at the time we made the pick. Be sure to check out our live odds page for updated odds on today’s games.
