NHL Betting Tips For Thursday, February 2

Jon and DerekIt was a 1-2 day for our leans yesterday as we continue to try to get our rhythm back after the NHL all-star break.

Really surprising to see the Wild, which has been a terrific first period team all year (particularly on the road), get outscored 2-0 in the first period last night by a Flames team that has struggled in first periods and hadn’t played in nearly a week. We weren’t sure if tired legs might hurt Minnesota as the game went along, but the Wild should have had a pretty big advantage in the opening 20 minutes – and it didn’t work out that way.

In other news, the Avalanche is unfathomably horrible. Last night’s 5-0 loss to the low-scoring Kings was their 26th loss in 30 games, and they haven’t won in regulation time in nearly 2 months. That’s really hard to do in a league that seems to pride itself on parity.

There’s 8 games in the NHL tonight. Below is our favourite bet of the day, plus stats, trends and leans on the other 7 contests. Good luck!

Odds below are at the time we made the pick. Be sure to check out our live odds page for updated odds on today’s games.
