NHL Betting Tips For Thursday, February 16

Jon and DerekOur leans went 2-2 overall yesterday.

The Red Wings Team Total Under 2.5 (Detroit was shut out 2-0) and Panthers/Sharks Over 5 (Florida won 6-5) both hit easily, but we lost both the Leafs Team Total Over 2.5 and Flyers/Flames First Period Under 1.5 opinions by half a goal.

There are 8 games in the NHL tonight, including the Kings being the latest team to come off their bye week as they host Arizona.

NHL teams are 3-8-1 this season in their first game following their mandatory 5 days off, with the last 2 (Flames and Oilers) getting outscored 10-1 in that situation.

However, the Kings moneyline actually went up today from around -210 to -245 or higher at some books. Bettors have to be aware of that trend by now, especially the big bettors who make the line move, so it will be interesting to see what happens tonight – especially consider the Coyotes have actually been playing pretty well lately.

We don’t love the board today, but we’ve still got a Best Bet for tonight, along with stats, trends and opinions on the rest of the matchups.

Good luck!
