NHL Betting Tips For Thursday, December 7

Jon and DerekWe hit a season high for profit on the year last night, winning on the Flyers/Oilers Over 5.5 to move to +8.1 units on the campaign.

It took a late empty netter from Philly’s Wayne Simmonds to cash that Over, but we’ll gladly take it and look to keep things rolling tonight. Unfortunately, even though there are 9 games in the card, there’s not much we really like in tonight’s action.

There are a ton of backup goalies playing tonight, which always muddies things. We were interested in betting the Avalanche team total under tonight in Tampa Bay, but don’t trust Budaj enough to make that bet at a -135 price.

Ottawa was also really tempting as a big dog on the first period moneyline, considering how good they are in opening periods on the road and how the Kings don’t seem to turn things on until the 3rd period (they’re +27 in third periods this year). But who wants a piece of the Senators right now?

Instead, we’re just going with a couple of Over bets in tonight’s action. Good luck if you’re tailing along, or on whatever else you like on tonight’s board.

Odds below are at the time we made the pick. Be sure to check out our live odds page for updated odds on today’s games.
