NHL Betting Tips For Saturday, February 18

Jon and DerekOur posted leans went 2-1 yesterday, winning with the Jackets over Pittsburgh and the Under 5.5 in Colorado/Carolina, and losing the Ducks over the Panthers.

In case you missed it, Colorado beat the Hurricanes 2-1 in OT last night as underdogs of nearly +250. Teams coming off their bye week are now 3-11 (2 OT losses) in their first game back in action.

There are five teams in that situation today, including a unique scenario in Montreal as the Canadiens also play their first game under new head coach Claude Julien. Other teams coming off byes are the Blackhawks, Predators, Lightning and Capitals. It’ll be very interesting to see if this trend of struggling after the bye week continues today, especially if it affects strong teams like the Hawks and Caps.

There are 11 games in the NHL today, with a few afternoon starts, so we had to get this post up and out as soon as we could this morning. Like most Saturdays, the goalie information probably isn’t as reliable as it is on weekdays when we post our breakdowns a few hours before game time. Just a heads up there.

Good luck today!
