NHL Betting Tips For Friday, March 3

Jon and DerekOur picks and leans went 5-3 overall last night with a couple of pushes, including on our Best Bet (Panthers First Period Moneyline).

We’ll gladly take 5-3 on a night where there were a lot of surprises in the NHL. The biggest surprise was the total lack of scoring, as there were two 1-0 games and four 2-1 games. Incredibly, 14 of the 20 teams in action last night scored 2 goals or less.

Things have definitely gotten a lot tighter across the league this week. 8 of the 10 games last night were 1-goal games, and 8 of the 12 games Tuesday were 1-goal affairs as well. Over the last 3 nights, 8 of 24 games went to overtime, and that doesn’t even include the Canadiens winning last night’s game against the Predators on a goal with 9 seconds left in regulation.

Just something to keep in mind as teams get into their playoff push – you might not want to lay the -1.5 on the puck line too often, or even the -0.5 in regulation.

There are 6 games in the NHL tonight. Below is our favourite bet of the day, followed by stats, trends and leans for the rest of the games.

Odds below are at the time we made the pick. Be sure to check out our live odds page for updated odds on today’s games.
