NHL Betting Tips For Friday, March 10

Jon and DerekLast night was a great reminder of why we are advocates of flat betting (when you risk/try to win similar amounts on every bet you make).

We loved the Wild First Period moneyline last night. Absolutely loved it. Probably as strong as we’ve felt about a game all year.

And Minny went out and laid an egg for the first 15 minutes of the first period, digging itself an early 2-0 hole. (It didn’t help that Tampa’s first goal was a fairly harmless-looking shot from the blue line through a screen.)

The Wild finally came alive a bit late in the first, but couldn’t solve Vasilevskiy as the Lightning went into the intermission with a 2-0 lead.

It’s a loss. But fortunately it’s just a 1-unit loss. For all the times we may regret not betting more on a game that we really loved and won, there’s probably more times we’re glad we stayed conservative when we love a game and it loses.

Tough night all around yesterday for us, going 2-6 with a pair of pushes, so hopefully you didn’t tail too many of our leans.

The Leafs Under 5.5 got burned by 3 goals in final 5 minutes, including an empty netter; the Devils lost on a goal with a minute left in regulation; and the Flames scored a meaningless goal with 4 minutes left to push the Under 5 vs. Montreal.

On to tonight, where there are 5 games in the NHL. It feels like we’ve become obsessed with Unders of late, but that’s again the way we’re looking for the majority of the slate. Maybe it’s because things are tightening up as teams get into their playoff push (or at least we think they are.)

Good luck tonight!
