We enjoyed our best night in quite a while yesterday, coming within a goal of a 4-0 sweep.
The Blackhawks and Coyotes easily went Over 5.5, the Sharks blanked the Wild and the Penguins stormed back from an early 3-0 deficit to cover the -1 puck line in a 5-3 win over the Senators.
Our loss came on the Panthers/Canadiens Over 5.5, with Florida winning 4-1.
We also posted a couple of strong leans that both won. The Hurricanes upset the Bruins in Boston to cover the +1.5 puck line, and the Predators eliminated the dead-in-the-water Avalanche from playoff contention with a 4-3 victory.
There are 3 games tonight, and one of them jumped off the page to us for a couple of reasons that we’ll get into below. We also have a strong lean to the Flyers in Detroit, but we’re going to pass, at least for now.
Odds below are at the time we made the pick. Be sure to check out our live odds page for updated odds on today’s games.

The main reason the Oilers are such big favourites in this game is probably because it’s the final game at Rexall Centre, and everyone expects Edmonton players to be extremely motivated to close the arena with a victory. Things have been rough lately for the Oilers franchise, but the great teams of the 80s and early 90s deserve to have the old Northlands Coliseum go out in style.
There’s another reason we’re on the Oilers tonight, though. We’ve been eagerly awaiting their next game ever since seeing this tirade by coach Todd McLellan following a pathetic 5-0 loss to the Flames Saturday:
McLellan didn’t hold back in ripping the character and commitment of his team. You don’t hear NHL coaches say things like ‘crap’ and ‘fricking embarrassing’ about their teams very often. The team has had 4 days to think about things and focus on tonight’s game. If the Oilers have any pride at all, they show up in a big way tonight, and we want to be along for the ride.
