NHL Betting Tips For Friday, March 11

Jon and DerekWe went 0-1 with a push last night.

The loss was a bad read on the Senators/Panthers game. We thought Florida had been playing too tight lately and expected Ottawa to at least get into overtime if not pull off the upset, but the Panthers blasted them 6-2.

The push was on the Sabres/Canadiens Over 5. Montreal took a 3-2 lead midway through the third period and nearly got us the 6th goal to go over, but Galchenyuk hit the post with the Sabres net empty in his attempt to secure a hat trick.

Like we said yesterday, the games are getting pretty tight. Carolina upset Boston, the Oilers won in Minnesota and the Devils blanked the Sharks last night – three underdogs that each paid +150 or higher.

Makes for some interesting games, but a bit harder to make money. We’re going with two games that are pretty even odds tonight and let’s hope to get back on track with a 2-0 night.

Odds below are at the time we made the pick. Be sure to check out our live odds page for updated odds on today’s games.

Game: Ducks @ Blues
Time: 8:00PM ET
Pick: Ducks +104 (BetOnline)

The Ducks had their 11-game winning streak ended by the Capitals the other night (losing in a shootout) and followed that up by laying an egg in Colorado 2 nights later, losing 3-0. Anaheim should be motivated to get back on track tonight against an opponent that presents a good challenge.

St. Louis won an emotional game last time out against the Blackhawks and could be a little flat for this one. We’ll take the better team hungry to end its two-game losing “streak” over the home team that might be feeling a little good about itself right now.
